Adsense is delivering non relevant Ads
Adsense is delivering non relevant Ads!
by Kevin Allman
Google has a separate bot for determining the content on your
website so that adsense can generate adequate results.
However, it takes time for this bot to crawl your webpage,
and in that time, seemingly non relevant ads could be generated.
Non relevant ads
of this nature mainly occur if the URL does not have in what the webpage
keyword.
For
example, I once created a website about Search Engine Optimization and the
problem I was having with the following link is that I would be displaying ads
dealing with "Global strategy" and other business topics.
The links
was ::
http://www.pzeta.org/seo_global/seo.htm
What was much better when I changed my URL was
http://www.pzeta.org/search_engine/optimization.htm
This produces much better results because
the keywords are in the
URL.
Anchor text
is also important in finding relevant hands. Make sure that whatever webpage is
linking to yours; has your keywords in the description of your website.
Also,
make sure that your keywords are in the following places in your HTML file.
-
The title of the page
- Any H1 and H2 tags used in the page
- Throughout the content of the webpage spread evenly.
That’s its!
I've found that applying those points above have eliminated about 95% of my
nonrelevant Ads. The other 5% would just be easily identifiable ambiguities.
For example, I once read of a
person who had the word 'strings'
right throughout their html file but they were dealing with 'strings'
with regards to a computer programming language.
Google Ads about GUITARS came up and it was easy to realize where the
ambiguity fell. A simple change to the word strings fixed the problem.
If
you have applied the tips above and your pages still don't show relevant ads;
please contact me @ kallman at gmail.com so I can take a look at it.
Thanks!
