3Dlabs Wildcat Realizm 800 Graphics Accelerator Enables SIGGRAPH 2005 Attendees to Create Stunning 3d Animation and Effects

Wildcat Realizm-Supported Performance Optimizing and Debugger Tool for OpenGL 2.0 Available Next Month

MILPITAS, Calif., July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- 3Dlabs Inc., Ltd., a leading innovator in professional visual processing, today announced that Wildcat(R) Realizm(TM) professional graphics accelerators will power animation, film and broadcast applications at the SIGGRAPH 2005 show on August 2 - 4, 2005 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Alias (Booth #1312) will demonstrate how Maya(R) software works seamlessly with the Wildcat Realizm 800 to deliver stunning 3D visual effects in record time for movies, games and TV. 3Dlabs is a wholly owned subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd. .

In addition to the numerous OpenGL(R) 2.0 development tools on 3Dlabs' web site, a new performance optimizing and debugger tool, called gDEBugger, will be available next month from tool partner Graphic Remedy. The newest version of Graphic Remedy's gDEBugger tool allows developers to maximize OpenGL-based application performance on Wildcat Realizm graphics accelerators by taking advantage of 3Dlabs' exclusive hardware performance profiling technology built into all Wildcat Realizm graphics accelerators. This unique capability allows real-time visibility into the graphics pipeline. 3Dlabs collaborated with Graphic Remedy to incorporate this powerful new technology into the upcoming release of gDEBugger.

In the seventh annual Alias MasterClasses training series, conference and show attendees can harness the power of the industry's highest performing professional graphics accelerator, Wildcat Realizm 800, to take full advantage of Maya and MotionBuilder software. Using the Wildcat Realizm 800, professionals and students from around the world can learn the award-winning software from major animated motion picture house artists and Alias product specialists. 3Dlabs is the only 3D graphics provider for the week-long MasterClasses, which cater to individuals in the game development, film and broadcast industries. OpenGL 2.0 Performance Optimizing and Debugger Tool

Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) will be able to increase the performance of their OpenGL-based software applications when they use the new gDEBugger tool. gDEBugger profiles OpenGL 2.0 code to help to debug and improve the performance of OpenGL-based applications. With the added feature of real-time hardware profiling, the gDEBugger tool monitors and provides visibility to various points in the graphics pipeline in real time so that ISVs can alter software on-the-fly to correct errors. Developers can download the tool next month from this site: http://developer.3dlabs.com/ .

OpenGL and Advanced Rendering Class
